John Freeman is a seasoned executive with more than 25 years of experience in the data center and TMT sectors, having led global teams and complex transactions across Asia, the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East.
A founding executive of Digital Edge, John has served on the company’s Board since its inception and played a key role in shaping its growth strategy. He was appointed Group President in 2024 and assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer in the second quarter of 2025.
Before stepping into leadership roles at Digital Edge, John was Chief Legal and Compliance Officer at Tata Communications, where he managed the global legal, regulatory, and compliance functions. He brings deep expertise in cross-border M&A, joint ventures, and corporate reorganizations, and has successfully closed over 20 M&A transactions, including deals valued at up to US$14 billion.
Originally from the United States, John holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science and a Juris Doctorate (JD) from the University of Minnesota.
