If you are a Japanese resident, as defined under Japanese law, we may process your Personal Data in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Data (Act No. 57 of 2003) (the “APPI”) and you have certain rights under the APPI.  Below, we provide a supplementary description of how we share your Personal Data with third parties under the APPI. The Addendum constitutes an integral part of the Privacy Statement.

In addition to the “COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING” section, the following clause shall apply.

  • We may send periodic promotional or informational emails to you by obtaining your consent.

In addition to the “DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA TO THIRD PARTIES” section, the following clause shall apply.

  • When we share your Personal Data with our affiliates, John Freeman, Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, 5 Temasek Blvd, Tower 5, #17-119, Singapore 038985 is responsible for the management of the shared information.  The Digital Edge affiliates which will receive Personal Data are:

  • Time and method of transfer of Personal Data: Personal Data is encrypted using a safe security server after collection and transferred to data server through information and communications network as required
  • Categories of Personal Data: E-mail address, encrypted password(s), name(s), phone numbers, registered social media (Line, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, etc.), address, and services acquired.
  • Purpose of use of Personal Data the person receiving personal information: Storage and management of collected personal information of customers and potential customers, Hosting and IT support, Business support – central support functions (service support, billing, customer communications, marketing, hiring of potential candidates and undertaking background checks, etc), Global business analysis of central support function at the Digital Edge Group level.
  • Period of retention and use of Personal Data by the person receiving personal information: Retain in accordance with Digital Edge Group data retention policy, (except where it is necessary to retain personal information under the relevant laws and regulations).

  • Categories of Personal Data transferred: E-mail address, encrypted password(s), name(s), phone numbers, registered social media (Line, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, etc.), address, and services acquired.
  • Purpose of use of Personal Data by the person receiving personal information: Same as above.
  • Period of retention and use of Personal Data by the person receiving personal information:  Same as above.
  • We will obtain your consents when we share your Personal Data with marketing partners in general if it is required by the APPI.

The Section 13 “Your Rights” of the Privacy Statement shall be replaced by the following provisions.

“Under the APPI, you may have the following rights regarding our Processing of your Personal Data:

  • Right of Access.  The right to request access to, or copies of, your Relevant Personal Data.
  • Right of Rectification and the Like.  The right to request rectification, addition or deletion of any inaccuracies in your Relevant Personal Data.
  • Right to Restrict Use and the Like.  The right to limit the way we Process your Relevant Personal Data or request us to delete the same if the data is used beyond the scope stipulated in this Privacy Statement, we have obtained your Relevant Personal Data by deceit, or our use of your Relevant Personal Data induces or promotes illegal or wrongful acts.

The forgoing rights are not intended to limit your statutory rights under the APPI or other applicable laws if any.

To exercise one or more of these rights, or to ask a question about these rights or any other provision of this Privacy Statement, or about our Processing of your Relevant Personal Data, please send an email to privacy@digitaledgedc.com.

Please note that in some cases it will be necessary to provide evidence of your identity before we can give effect to these rights.

In addition, where your request requires the establishment of additional facts (e.g., a determination of whether any Processing is non-compliant with applicable law) we will investigate your request promptly, before deciding what action to take.

In addition, where permitted under the APPI or any other applicable law, we may charge you a reasonable fee to access your Relevant Personal Data, however, we will advise you of any fee in advance of providing you access.”
